Solar Park Nieuweweg, which is in late stage development, provides clean energy and a special place for members of the community to connect with nature.
AMSTERDAM, Nov. 28, 2019 – Solar Provider Group is currently developing a 6MW solar array in the Netherlands. This project would supply clean and renewable electricity to around 2747 Dutch households. Solar Park Nieuweweg is applying for the The Netherlands’ renewable energy program, The Stimulering Duurzame Energieproductie (“SDE+”), which aims to help nation reach its goal of generating 14% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2020.
Solar Provider Group has partnered with a local couple, who operate a day care and on-site living for individuals with disabilities. Their motivations align with Solar Provider Group and focus on establishing a connection with the natural environment. Harnessing the power from the sun is the perfect way to round out their mission. The proposed Solar System fits in perfectly with the landscape of the property, with the design being a collaboration between Solar Provider Group and the neighbors of the site, which ensures everyone feels good about the plans. Solar Provider Group is known to go the extra mile to ensure the local communities will benefit from the new solar development. The social value of this project will serve to protect the natural environment, stimulate biodiversity, and provide dual land use with a picking forest and for sheep. There is even an opportunity for financial participation for the community.
The photovoltaic system will be the first project of Solar Provider Group’s in the Netherlands. The Netherlands, alongside other European countries, such as Germany, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, are part of Solar Provider Group’s global portfolio expansion.
