Fort Fairfield

Fort Fairfield is a 4MW community solar farm located in the City of Presque Isle, Aroostook County, Maine. The project spans 17 acres and is hidden away from residential view

Developed between 2022-2023, Fort Fairfield Community Solar has a lifespan of +30 years to deliver clean, consistent, and sustainably generated power to local residents and businesses of Presque Isle. Based on average power consumption figures in Maine, Fort Fairfield has the output to power 676 homes and businesses annually. Customers of Versant Power can take advantage of this solar project and enjoy discounted electricity by subscribing to a portion of energy generated by it at a rate below the standard utility rate. Solar generating facilities like Fort Fairfield are key in realizing the ambitious goal of having 80% of the State of Maine’s power come from renewable sources by 2030.
