Richland Creek
Richland Creek Solar is a 2.7MW AC community solar farm located on 14.9 acres of farmland near the Village of Smithton in St. Clair County, Illinois.
Richland Creek is situated in St. Clair County’s Agricultural Industry District, and has been designed to minimize environmental disturbance and to integrate seamlessly with the site’s natural features, featuring natural screening and vegetative ground cover. The Project is expected to generate approximately 6,376 MWh of energy annually, enough to power approximately 688 single-family homes in the local area. Through Net Metering for Community Solar, the project will allow residents to save on their energy bill, by subscribing to a portion of the energy generated by the solar facility. The project is due to be constructed in 2027.
